What is Neurotechnology?

The term neurotechnology is often used to describe the tools and methods that can influence the human central nervous system, especially the brain, to achieve a desired effect, including: pharmaceuticals; genetic engineering; psychological and social conditioning; physical augmentation and cellular implantation; electrical stimulation; and electro-mechanical nanotechnology.

More specifically, neurotechnology is defined as the application of electronics and engineering to human nervous system function. It is a distinct field from biotechnology, which concerns itself largely with molecular and genetic engineering approaches to human biology.
